What makes a toy “green”?

An eco-friendly or “green” toy is both environmentally and socially responsible. It’s accountable to, and respectful of, the places and people that provide and use it.
Being “green” is about so much more than just recycling. It’s also about being socially conscious and striving to have the whole supply chain engaged in environmentally sustainable practices. Overseas sourcing uses a lot of energy and also takes revenue out of our local economy. This is why we chose to have our products made right here in the US. Since IBC believes in “thinking globally and acting locally,” our toys are 100% American made and are manufactured 70 miles from our place of business, greatly reducing our carbon footprint. They are assembled by people with special needs in our local community, giving them a place to learn viable skills to take out into the world.
The development of ecologically safer products, recyclable and biodegradable packaging, energy-efficient operations, and better pollution controls are all aspects of producing a green product. At Imagination Box Co., we strive to implement as many environmentally respectful practices as possible, all the way down to our website being wind powered and using recycled office paper!
Our products are manufactured in a facility about 70 miles from us, allowing us greater quality control and lessening our carbon footprint on the planet.
We believe in contributing as much as possible to our community. Our toys are assembled by people with special needs, teaching them new skills to bring forward into society.
Our products are made from 45% post-consumer recycled materials and are 100% recyclable!
We care a great deal about contributing all we can to sustaining planet Earth for generations to come. So, when you buy, buy green! It’s a gift that keeps on giving!
